LEADERSHIP PROGRAM (Ages: 12 and up)
Volunteer at the Macomb Park District! This is a great way to create leadership skills and a community service background. Volunteers help make our programs great! Volunteers can be used in a variety of areas. Assisting with special events, park clean up, office help, and the Nature Center are just a few of the many areas volunteers can give back to their community. Volunteers are given incentives based on the number of service hours they complete. Many of our past volunteers speak of the fun they have had, as well as the excellent job training skills gained as being a part of the park district. ZUMBA (Ages: 16 and up)
Zumba is the only Latin-inspired dance-fitness program that blends red-hot international music, created by Grammy Award-winning producers, and contagious steps to form a "fitness-party" that is downright addictive. It's an exhilarating, effective, easy-to-follow, Latin-inspired, calorie-burning dance fitness-party that's moving millions of people toward joy and health.

ROAD RACERS RUNNING AND FITNESS CLUB (Ages: 10 - 18)
You do not have to be a good runner or have running experience to participate in this fun fitness experience. All you need is the desire to run and have fun. The primary focus is to have fun while running. The goal of the club are to develop a love of running, increase knowledge of healthy habits, increase leadership skills and build confidence.

BOOTCAMP IN THE PARK (Ages: 16 and up)
Experience the ultimate in fitness workouts with Bootcamp in the Park. Bootcamp in the Park is program is packed with lots of variety and tons of fun in a strength and endurance exercise class. All fitness levels, sizes and ages are welcome.

BEGINNING TENNIS (Ages: 5 - 15)
Learn the basic skills and rules of tennis. This hands-on program will allow children of all abilities to learn the sport of tennis. Rackets are limited, so please bring one if you have your own.

HAPPY HOOK CROCHETING CLUB (Ages: 14 and up)
Join the Happy Hook Crocheting Club at the Macomb Park Distract. Participants can share stories, advice and more! The Happy Hook Crocheting Club will be lead by Lisa Naskrent, published crochet designer. Lisa will be there to answer any questions you may have with your crocheting projects.

LET'S WALK (Ages: 16 and up)
This morning program is back by popular demand! Do you like to walk in the morning but have no one to walk with? Then come join the Macomb Park District every Friday morning as we walk in different Macomb Park District parks. Walkers of all abilities are encouraged to come and enjoy the walk. Weekly park walking locations are as follows: Spring Lake Park (6/8), Veterans Park (6/15), Everly Park (6/22), and Lakeview Nature Area (6/29).

MACOMB PARK DISTRICT/MCDONOUGH COUNTY YMCA SENIOR FISHING CONTEST (Ages: 50 and up)
Seniors are invited to join us for this fun-filled morning of fishing. Participants need to bring their own fishing poles and bait. Fishing licenses have been waived (for this event only) by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. Prizes will be awarded for the biggest and smallest fish and oldest and youngest senior to catch a fish. A $2 fee will be charged to offset the cost of coffee, doughnuts, and prizes.

FLAG DAY FUN PARTY (Ages; 5 - 10)
Even though Flag Day is actually June 14, come have fun and celebrate with the Macomb Park District. Participants will have fun learning interesting facts about the American flag that will be taught through games, crafts, and other activities. This program will also include a patriotic snack.

TUESDAY MORNING POTTERY (Ages: 16 and up))
Morning people unite!! Help reduce your stress by exploring your creativity with clay. Hand building techniques including coil, slab, and pinch methods will be taught. Everything you need to make pottery is included in this six week program. Fee includes: clay, glazes, slips, use of tools and brushes, glaze and bisque kiln firings, day and evening lab hours, adult supervision and instruction. Maximum of 8 participants. Instructor: Pam Johnson

SQUISH, SQUASH, AND ROLL (Ages: 7 - 9)
Summer time fun in this class. Kids will squish, squash, and roll clay to make all sorts of pottery and art. This program is designed to teach new skills, encourage social interaction and improve both fine and gross motor movements. Projects will include: animals, a coil bowl, a slab box and lots of free time for special ideas. This is a five week program. Fee includes everything needed: clay, glazes, use of tools and brushes, bisque and glaze kiln firings, adult instruction and supervision. Maximum of 8 participants. (No class on July 4). Instructor: Pam Johnson

CLAY 2 (Ages: 16 and up)
A program for adults with some previous experience with clay. Both hand building and wheel throwing are available in this class. The six week program is designed to help you stretch your knowledge and improve your skills. Everything you need to make pottery is included in this six week program. Fee includes: clay, glazes, use of tools and brushes, bisque and glaze kiln firings, class instruction and both day and night lab hours (No class on July 4). Maximum of 8 participants. Instructor: Pam Johnson

CLAY EXPLORERS (Ages: 9 - 12)
Each week for five weeks you will try out new clays, building techniques, awesome new materials and materials and firing approaches. Clay Explorers is a challenging problem solving program. Kids will use real natural clay to make an African Bura drum, a Native American slip designed bowl and a Japanese style tea bowl. All materials needed are included the registration fee: clay slips, glazes, bisque and glaze kiln firings, use of tools and brushes, adult instruction and supervision. Maximum of 8 participants. Be brave and step up to the clay challenge. Instructor: Pam Johnson

KIDS COOKING CLASS (Ages: 6 - 13)
Stir, bake, taste, YUMMY! This class is perfect for all those kids who love to cook! We will make delicious creations and learn about kitchen safety all while having a blast! Instructor: Barb Couckal

PANINI ME! (Ages: 14 and up)
Learn to make this fun and exciting sandwich! Panini is a popular sandwich that is stuffed with cheese, vegetables or meat, which is then grilled on Italian bread. Learn the keys to make a delicious panini in this hands on class. Instructor: Barb Couckal

DON'T LET STRESS STRESS YOU OUT! (Ages: 16 and up)
Stress could be called the plague of the 21st century. It is said to be responsible for around 85% of doctors visit. In this program you will examine the signs of stress, its causes and consequences. Learn practical techniques for the immediate relief and methods to help you be healthier, happier and more productive. Instructor: Jan Whitehead

This American Red Cross course teaches the skills necessary to recognize an emergency, perform rescue breathing, abdominal thrusts and CPR. There is also instruction for the care of: injuries, burns, sudden illnesses and other emergency situations. All skills and written tests are covered to acquire your certification card. Fee includes all equipment needed and card. Instructor: Leann DeJoode

KIDS FUN CLUB (Ages: 5 - 12)
Hey kids, want something fun to do on a lazy summer afternoon? Come join the Macomb Park District Kids Fun Club. Participants will go to the movies and then go swimming at Glenwood Pool (6/22) or Ball Fore (7/20). You are sure to have a good time! Maximum 10 kids.

LIFEGUARDING TRAINING CLASS (Ages: 15 and up)
This American Red Cross Lifeguarding course will not only help you earn you lifeguarding certificate, but develop new skills and learn how to deal effectively with victim rescue and water rescue techniques. You will need to be a good swimmer to enroll in this class. Participants will also receive manuals and tips for securing lifeguarding jobs. There will be a minimal fee for masks. FUN CITY HUCK'S HARBOR WATERPARK (Ages: 6 - 13)
Come join the Macomb Park District at the outdoor water park at Huck's Harbor! There is fun for everyone that includes an interactive water play station with sprayers, slides, and a dump bucket. The park also offers two water slides, Tom's Twister and the Red Rage, a lazy river, speed slides, and Kiddie City Jr., a water play area for young children.

ROCKIN JEWELRY (Ages: 5 - 13)
Come join the Macomb Park District in this hands on class! Create a rockin piece of jewelry in this fun class. Participants will create a pet rock necklace using thread, ribbon, paint, glue, yarn and whatever fun things we can find.

DISC GOLF TOURNAMENT
The Macomb Park District will be sponsoring an eighteen hole disc golf tournament on Saturday, July 14 at the Everwood Disc Golf Course. The cost of the tournament will be $15. Participants can register in advance or from 9am - 9:30am on Saturday, July 14. A players meeting for all participants will be at 9:45am with a 10am shotgun start.

GIRLS LACROSSE CAMP (Ages: 8 - 15)
Join the Macomb Park District and the Illinois Girls Lacrosse Association as they introduce your child to the fundamentals of girls lacrosse. The camp will provide highly skilled and experience coaches that will include current and former collegiate players. Participants will learn catching, throwing, ground balls and basic offense and defense. Sticks and goggles will be provided. All players are required to bring a mouth guard. All campers will receive an ILGA t-shirt. Registration is a two-step process. Register and pay at the Macomb Park District and go to www.iglaz.org and fill out the camp registration form.

FIRST AID FOR LITTLE PEOPLE (Ages: 6 - 12)
This American Red Cross class teaches children the basic health and safety tips focusing on shock, bleeding, choking, the Heimlich maneuver, burns, poison and much more! Upon completion of the class a Red Cross certificate will be received. Instructor: Leann DeJoode

JUST FOR KIDS SPRING LAKE PARK FUN RUN (Ages: 12 and under)
The Spring Lake Park Kids Fun Run is free and open to all children 12 and under. There will be a 25 meter tot trot for 18 months through 3 years old. Children 4 to 12 will be grouped in ages divisions to participate in the 400 meter run or 1 K (.623 mile) run. All participants will get a medal and water or Gatorade. There will be a $7 charge if a participant wishes to have a Spring Lake Park Fun Run t-shirt. T-shirts ordered by July 9 are $7 and will be ready by July 28, t-shirts can be ordered after July 9 are $9 but are not guaranteed to be ready by July 28.

BRITISH SOCCER CAMP (Ages: 6 - 14)
Soccer Camps provide players of all ages and abilities with the rare opportunity to receive high-level soccer coaching from a team of international experts. Each day includes individual foot skills, technical drills, tactical practices, small-sided games, coached scrimmages, and a daily tournament. Equally important, the Challenger coaching staff provides your child with lessons in respect, responsibility, integrity, sportsmanship and leadership.

YOUTH GOLF (Ages: 6 - 14)
Golf is a life long sport and starting young introduces the basics needed to be comfortable on a course. This week long day camp is free of charge. This program is intended for children who do not have prior experience with golf. Participants must provide their own clubs to use and cannot repeat it year after year. This program is a first come, first serve program and will take place at Ball Four Family Fun Entertainment Center from Monday-Thursday. On Friday participants will play golf at WIU Golf Course.

SENIOR COMPUTER CLUB (Ages: 55 and up)
Join us to learn about computers. This introductory course is for beginners. You will be guided through the use of the internet, word processing and a variety of other programs which will be useful in your everyday life. Handouts will be available. Class meets at the WIU Library on the WIU campus. Maximum of 10 participants.

BABY-SITTING TRAINING COURSE (Ages: 11 and up)
This American Red Cross baby-sitting training course will provide the opportunity for new and experienced baby-sitters to receive important training. Topics will include how to handle an emergency situation, first aid, child supervision, how to keep yourself and kids safe, and much more. Instructor: Leann DeJoode
